Having your very own website is essential to your long-term success.  If you plan on reselling the products in the CB Mall, you need somewhere to "store" them and you need a "home" page to send your prospects to (recommended).  From your "home" page, you can direct prospects to your CB Mall products, your ezine/newsletter, affiliate programs you promote, etc.

Now we realize that the thought of setting up a website can be quite daunting.  There are basically two types of people, the "do it yourself" people who have the time and desire to learn and wish to follow all of the necessary steps to build their own website.  And there are those who would rather hire it professionally done for whatever reason.  Perhaps they do not have the time or simply prefer to have this type of job done by a professional.

The first thing you need to do is to obtain a domain name and web hosting for your site. 

Keep in mind that you will only need one domain name.  You can manage all aspects of your site under this domain name by using "subdomains" and extensions.  For instance, if your domain name is WorkAtHome.com, your home page would be:

www.WorkAtHome.com

You may wish to include a link from your home page to a page about your CB Mall or ezine create by CB Mall or your own.  In this case, you would create a subfolder under your main domain and the link for your ezine would look something like:

www.WorkAtHome.com/ezine

THINGS TO INCLUDE ON YOUR HOME PAGE:

Your homepage will be, for the most part, the central place where you send your prospects and may possibly be their first impression of you and your business.  Keep this in mind as you are designing it.  There may be instances where you direct your prospects directly to another page on your domain bypassing your home page.  For example, you may send a special offer mailing to your ezine/newsletter to let them know about one of your products and may send them directly to the product page.  Don't be surprised however, if they decide on their own to have a look at your home page just to become more familiar with what you're all about.

Here are a few things you may wish to include on the Home Page:

  • A Contact Us or About Us feature clearly providing instructions on how your visitors may reach you (ie:  e-mail address, physical address, phone number if available)

  • A Link to your Ezine/Newsletter Page

  • Links to featured products or a general link to your product description page.

  • Links to your affiliate programs or recommended opportunities

  • A sign-up form your your Ezine/Newsletter (VERY IMPORTANT)  This is a must! (see more about this below)

 

CREATING A FORM FOR YOUR EZINE/NEWSLETTER:

This is a MUST!  As we have stated and you will see throughout these tutorials, building your own opt-in mailing list is something you must focus on as something that is essential to your long-term success!  One of the best ways to do this is to include a sign-up form for your ezine/newsletter on your home page.  In fact, we recommend putting a sign-up form on every single page of your website!  Above the form, provide the name of your ezine/newsletter along with a brief statement about it.  Offer a "free gift" such as an e-book for signing up.  It is a good idea to include a statement regarding your privacy policy as well.  An example is  "Your privacy is important to us, we will never share your e-mail address with anyone" or something to that effect.
